Sri Aligireddy Kasi Vishwanatha Reddy

Founder-President

Sri Aligireddy Kasi Vishwanatha Reddy was born in the year 1926 in mulkanoor village, Bheemadevarapally mandal, Karimnagar district of Telangana state, India. His early education was in Warangal and higher studies at osmania University, Hyderabad. He has participated in independence movement and struggle against the Nizam rule. Sri A.K Vishwanatha Reddy was a well renowned personality. Soon after independence, having understood the rural poverty and pathetic conditions prevailed in this area, he devoted rest of his life for the rural development and welfare of farmer community.

He organized the farmers in this area and educated them that self help and mutual help were the best alternative for them. On 27th of July, 1956 Sri A.K. Vishwanatha Reddy along with few farmers promoted the Mulkanoor Cooperative Rural Bank and he was president for about 30 years. He started in a small way, but with a big dream, a dream founded on firm belief that the cooperative spirit and the cooperative movement would provide the answers to the problems of rural India

He has been chosen as Vice-President of the District Cooperative Central Bank, Karimnagar also served the District Cooperative Marketing Society, Karimnagar as a Director from 1959 to 1966. He was executive member of Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Marketing Federation from 1966 to 1969 and managing committee member of Cooperative Central Stores Karimnagar from 1962-69. He guided the Land Mortgage Bank as Director. For his enthusiastic interest in the development of Agriculture, he has been nominated as the State Seed Sub-Committee Member in 1969. Karimnagar being a major Maize crop growing area, he has sincerely tried and represented for establishment of Starch Factory at Karimnagar and elected as President of Andhra Pradesh Farmers Maize Starch Cooperative Limited during the year 1970. He has been appointed as Vice-President of the Mahatma Gandhi Cooperative Super Bazar Ltd., Huzurabad by the Government. He was sarpanch Bheemadevarapally Gram panchayath from 1962 onwards for (20) years. He was co-opted as a member of the Zilla Parishad Karimnagr for a period of five years.

He has rendered his sincere efforts in establishing the poultry units in the Bank area and tried for the development of Poultry activities, he was the member of the Central Poultry Development Advisory Council, Government of India and Vice-President of Warangal Poultry Farmers Association. For his interest and experience in the Agricultural activities and being a member of the State Seed Sub- Committee, the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University has nominated him as the Member of the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University Research Advisory Council from Telangana Region for two years i.e. 1977-79. He has been elected as the President, Multipurpose Cooperative Association, Hyderabad and in that capacity, he tried to establish viable Cooperative Societies in Andhra Pradesh. The Government of India has nominated him as member of the Local Board of the State Bank of India, Hyderabad for 7 years. He has been elected as President of the Panchayath Samithi, Bheemadevarapalli taluq for the period 1981-86. In recognization of his service rendered to the Mulkanoor Cooperative society, Cooperative Movement and efficient managerial Skills, the Hyderabad Management Association, felicitated him with the award "Manager of the year 1981." Till now, he is only the recipient, from cooperative sector to receive such award.
