While the supply of credit and other inputs helps members to increase production, it is only through the processing and marketing of their produce that a significant increase in financial returns is expected.
The Cooperative purchases the agriculture produce Viz. paddy and cotton from the members as per minimum support price or Warnagal market rate which ever is high. It has a storage facility for 40,000 MT in its 20 godowns. The members are benefitted by saving time, weighment, grading, rating, commission, market exploitation etc. The society is paying bonus to members on their produce purchased.
Bonus amount of Rs.22.21 crores has been paid to members since 1996.
(FY 2015-16 bonus paid for BPT paddy @ Rs. 110/-per quintal, other paddy @ Rs. 85/- per quintal, paddy seed @ Rs. 100/-per quintal, Cotton @ Rs. 250/- per quintal.)
The society had started the seed production and marketing of Paddy, grain jowar, fodder jowar, maize seeds since 1970.
For the seed production Cooperative collects the breeder seed of OP paddy varieties seeds from Agricultu_ re University, Hyderabad and multiplication of breeder to foundation and Foundation to certified seed is done in 8000 - 10000 Acres in a year. Every year the society purchases 8 - 10 varieties of paddy seeds from 1 Lakh to 1.3 lakh quintals and market the same with society brand in entire Telangana, part of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharastra & Bihar.
In 2013, we have started research & development activities in Maize & Paddy seed and released 4 Maize Hybrids and 5 research paddy varieties from Kharif 2016 season
The society owns 4 TPH Satake parboiled rice mill for processing of paddy purchased from members.
The Society is having 35 Cotton ginning machines and Bale pressing unit with the capacity of 16 Bales per hour.
The Society is having 6 seed processing units with 14 TPH capacity.
Earlier we have taken the responsibility of running fair price shops in the 14 villages., though it is not profitable. However we have given up the fair price shops to encourage the women and village youth to take up the activity under self employment scheme.
The society is running the Cloth & Rice shop at Mulkanoor.
It had dealership agreement with Indian Oil Corporation for supplying and selling Petrol and Diesel. Society also made agreement with Bharat Petroleum Corporation for LPG gas distribution to the society members. There are 4100 Gas connections
The management of the society felt that there is much to be done in the field of Rural Development, In addition to the various services provided by the Cooperative. The leadership floated separate rural development society in the year 2000, under the name "A.K. Vishwanatha Reddy Rural Development society Ltd." A Junior College was started during 2001-02, followed by Degree College during the year 2003-04.
Both the colleges have been established with the financial assistance of this society. The total strength of the two colleges for the academic year 2015-16 is 489 students, out of which 272 (56%) are girl students
The society has taken up three watershed programs with the financial assistance of rupees 2.62 crores from the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD). 283.70 Ha. is covered under these water shed programs.
AKVR Rural Development Society conducted free training program on tailoring and computer applications to women in this area for self employment.
